Blessing Project

2023-24 MINISTRY DETAILS

  • Dancers ages 13 and up (on or before the first rehearsal date) will go out into the community to bless the people to whom we are giving the gift of dance.
  • We will be preparing 1-3 dances Oct-Jan, and more information about the performance(s) to come.
  • Dancers must be an MKS student or friend participating with an MKS student.  
  • MKS Teen/Adult Students and Staff Members are invited to choreograph and/or dance in one of the dances.
  • Those interested in creating a piece should fill out the 2nd section of the Blessing Project Interest Form (see below).
  • There is no cost to participate in the ministry.  
  • We will be creative about costuming, i.e. we may use items from home, a costume from a previous performance, etc.
  • Dancing to share joy, bring healing to the hurting, and whatever else God has in store for this ministry.

REHEARSAL INFO – All Rehearsals will be at MKS on Sunday afternoons from 1-3pm

  • Sun, Oct 1  – Choreographers Only Meeting 1-2pm
  • Sun, Oct 15  –  Mandatory 1st Rehearsal for ALL Dancers & Choreographers
  • Sun, Nov 5 
  • Sun, Nov 19 
  • Sun, Dec 3 
  • Sun, Dec 17  
  • Sun, Jan 7
  • We will be able to determine if any additional rehearsal time is necessary by the end of November. 

– Participants must attend at least 5 out of the 6 rehearsals and/or 10 out of the 12 rehearsal hours in order to dance at the ministry event.  
Practicing on your own time is required between rehearsals, and dancers are welcome to video choreography during rehearsal.

Past events have included concerts in 2013 and 2014 to raise awareness of Human Trafficking, dances at a Christian Conference, dances at a Harris Stowe event, and the original dance was mourning the loss of a parent of a student.
