Petals & Pointe Shoes Propelling Pre-Teen to Puebla

Petals & Pointe Shoes Propelling Pre-Teen to Puebla

Every year at the MKS dance concerts there is a table near the entrance loaded with flowers that will be lavished upon dancers at the end of the show. It’s a physical symbol that families and friends can share with their dancers to say ‘I’m proud of you.’ Every year, Miss Michelle reaches out to studio families to find someone who wants to sell the flowers to support a worthy cause. This year, not only are there flowers available, but also custom-painted pointe shoes that have been hanging in the MKS lobby. And the hope is that the sale of these items will propel twelve-year-old MKS dancer Erica Penney to the mountains of Estado Puebla to share the gospel with unreached peoples. On July 29th Erica will embark on a journey of over 1,800 miles with a team of 24 other Christ followers, including her parents and two brothers, from Lifepoint Church, O’Fallon. Once there the team will reunite with a local church partner, Aposento Alto. Together the international team will set out to share the gospel in the local towns and surrounding mountain villages. The 2016 team brought the gospel to 8 previously unreached people groups. Every dollar spent in celebrating your special dancer has the power to change someone’s eternal destiny. Flowers will be available for purchase at the event if you missed the opportunity to pre-order. How can people have faith in the Lord and ask him to save them, if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear, unless someone tells them? – Romans 10:14 https://clovermedia.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/store/4043dab4-9e78-4e8b-b428-4b2b0a58e7c6/526c7af54d/720p.mp4  ...

O’Fallon Dance Studio To Send Teachers to Haiti

This July 9-16, My King Studio of Dance founder Michelle Revelle and tumbling teacher Vicki Miller will be heading to Haiti to share the fun of dance with children at the orphanage and school in Tabarre. MKS has been partnering with Joy in Haiti for a few years, collecting dance supplies for the kids and fabric and sewing materials for their seamstress ministry. In 2015 MKS won the O’Fallon scarecrow contest  and gave the prize money to Joy in Haiti. All those things are great and help the school and orphanage. However, at MKS we feel called to not only share our gifts, but also our talents, and for that there’s nothing like meeting kids and sharing your talents with them in person. In addition to the teachers, Miss Michelle’s daughter and father will be making the journey as well. “God has been preparing me for many years for this opportunity,” says Miss Michelle, “and I am excited to go and see what God has in store for us there. I cannot wait to meet all of the girls, dance with them and equip those who are interested with tools that will allow them to lead worship through dance. I am thrilled for my 9 year old daughter to meet the girls and also to see what life is like in other parts of the world. My dad will be a huge blessing, sharing his talents of carpentry and handy-ness. Ms. Vicki will be teaching some tumbling as well as helping me with dance.” Joy in Haiti Is a 501(c)3 Charitable organization that supports several ministries in the impoverished nation of Haiti.
